Cannabis in the highway business district

Danielle Martineau: If this is not about one entity why propose this amendment. This would
potentially create a very heavy cannabis presence on route 10.
Committee:General agreement regarding limiting footprint of cultivation to 25 thousand square
feet.
Planner Bagg: Spoke with the city attorney and discussed the concept of a decommissioning
bond. Uncomfortable with limiting cultivation to 25 thousand square feet.
Committee: Derby: in favor of staying with 25k and can reexamine later
Peake:in favor of decommissioning bond/process
Committee:Discussed 5 acre proposal, and agreed that reducing to 3 acres opens up to more
parcels
Discussed business to business buffers and residential setbacks
Planner Bagg: planning board could review current amendments
Committee: can wait for amendments to be finished to vote as committee
Engine brakes
Brief discussion about complexities of enforcement. Will discuss further
Indigenous peoples day
Discussed cultural importance. No objection to the ordinance as first read. Will set meet to
discuss further.
