Public Safety Committee Meeting Meeting Minutes: September 1, 2020 Councilor Gomez called the meeting to order at 6:05 Zoom - Online Members Present: Chair Homar Gomez, Councilor Lindsey Rothschild and Councilor Salem Derby (joined at 6:25) Also in Attendance: Dan Constantine (Captain of Fire Prevention), EFD, Patricia Dougherty of 82 Lovefield Street, Jody Ameden (Consultant for Jeff Hunter, Pioneer Fuels), Jeff Hunter of Pioneer Fuels, Russell Wall of 13 Stanley Street, Patricia Barrows of 1 Stanley Street, Michael Perusse of 4 Clapp Street Approval of Minutes: Public Speak Time: No public present. New Business: Request to amend existing fuel storage permit at 35 & 40 O’Neil Street ● Patti Doughtery -questions/concerns about the project ● Dan Constantine gave summary of project ● Jody Ameden (about oderants) ● Russell Wall - asked about fire risks, how to keep tanks cool ● Dan and Jody responded ● Patricia Barrows spoke to not being notified ● Michael Perusse brought up some concerns ● Dan Constantine (odorant is added before it comes to town), spoke to Westfield, made sure they follow all of the fire code, if they sell - land license stays with the land ● Jody - 20 lb tanks not lying around, not exchanged, land license needs to be renewed every year; inspected once a year at the state level ● Salem asked a question about security - fences/cameras/etc ● Fire Safety Analysis and Hazmat Security Plan (renewed and trained once a year) ● Public Hearing to October 7th ● So another meeting 10/6 Continuing Business:  ● Request to review on-street parking in Traffic Rules & Orders Next regular meeting: October 6, 2020 at 6pm A motion was made by Councilor Rothschild and seconded by Councilor Derby; it was unanimously voted that this meeting adjourn.
