Ordinace review
Will review notes from prior meetings and talk to prior chair and discuss in future
Speed Signs
Committee was in consensus re use of signs. Councilor Derby mentioned one in
Haydenville that gives feedback with flashing lights. Police chief Alberti noted
increase in call volume 2000 calls over last year. States speeding an ongoing
problem . He is in favor of strategic deployment of these signs in the city.
Councilor Derby mentioned the need to look at all options for speed mitigation
and noted increase in pedestrian accidents nationwide
The committee will meet next on this topic with input from PD regarding optimal
placement, and will evaluate signs in other cities used in the field
Motion to adjourn by councilor derby and seconded by councilor zaret. Vote 3-0
in the affirmative. meeting adjourned at 6:22 PM
