Public Safety Committee Minutes
Date 12/6/22
Members present: Owen Zaret, Dave Meunier
Members absent: Salem Derby
Also in Attendance: Councilor Gomez, and DPW Director Nuttleman
Meeting called to order by Councilor Zaret at 6:00 pm
1. Public Speak Time: no one
2. Approval of the meeting minutes:
-Councilor Zaret made a motion to approve the minutes from the meeting November 1st, Councilor
Meunier seconded.
Traffic counts were significantly lower than needed to warrant DOT signals at some intersections. It
was mentioned that accident rate, police data counts, could be used but mostly rate of speed plays a
factor, and will continue to be looked into.
Opening bids supposed to start mid to late December for Holyoke street project, new sidewalks etc.
The temporary speed bump has arrived but will not be deployed till spring, due to plowing.
Main street, Route 10, is a state route and the state will be involved in that part of construction,
starting possibly spring 2024.
No future meeting date decided at this time
Councilor Meunier made motion to adjourn, Councilor Zaret seconded.
Meeting adjourned at 6:13pm.
Respectfully Submitted,
Councilman David Meunier
Clerk to the Public Safety Committee
