ECA – Public Art Subcommittee Wednesday, January 15th, 2020, 6:15 pm Meeting Minutes Guest – Casey Douglas Absent – Josh 6:15 Public Speak – Casey informed committee that Galaxy will host the ECC Reception for 2020 grantees on Jan. 27th, 6:30. The Union Street bike racks will not be removed this year. ECA’s refurbishing of racks will not take place until the Union Street project begins in approximately two years. Jessica urged committee to make sure the Pocket Park and bike rack’s new, proposed location gets added to plan. Jamie and Pasqualina will work on making that happen. Pasqualina, Marcia, JP attended the Union Street Public Hearing on 1/13. Pasqualina made a request for inclusion of platforms for public art. Marcia requested more trees be included in the plan. Approval of December 18th minutes – Marcia motioned, Jessica seconded, all in approval Policy for Donation of Public Art – Long and lengthy discussion produced some additions and edits that Jamie will incorporate into the policy. Pasqualina will put together a draft application and indemnification policy for February’s meeting. Pasqualina will check with City for an established procurement policy. Artist’s Contract – postponed until February Updates: Pasqualina reported the NAR Place-making Grant was not submitted as planned because of the host’s website malfunction. When fixed, the proposals will be reviewed as they are submitted and not on the schedule previously discussed. ECA submitted a letter of support for the EDIC’s grant proposal to Mass Dept. of Housing & Urban Development Downtown Technical Assistance Program.
