ECA – Public Art Subcommittee Tuesday July 14, 2020 5:00 pm via Zoom Meeting Minutes Present – Pasqualina, Jamie, Marcia, Tracey, Denise, Bob Absent – Jean Pierre, Jessica 5:00 Public Speak - Marcia inquired about the repainting of ‘Power to the People’ electrical box at Payson and Williston. Pasqualina will contact Amy Johnquist for update. Casey Douglas and Tracey Eller have been appointed as Co-chairs of ECA Coordinating Committee. Casey is also a new member of the Easthampton Cultural Council and could serve as a liaison between the two groups. Approval of February 24th minutes – Marcia moved to approve minutes, Jamie seconded, all present were in approval. Public Sculpture at Council on Aging - The Council on Aging (COA) wants a sculpture commissioned for the memorial garden at the corner of Union/High Streets. COA has $1500 to put towards project. It is possible for a (granite) pedestal to be donated through COA contacts. Public Art Committee (PAC) has $500 and is asking ECA/CC to match that amount. Item added to ECA 7/31 agenda for discussion. ** Denise motioned for $500 from PAC funds to be allocated towards COA sculpture, Jamie seconded, all present were in favor. Downtown Easthampton Wayfinding Grant - 2020 Mass Downtown Initiative funding to formulate a wayfinding and branding program for the downtown. N/A Other The plaque for Fender Bender in Mill Side Park has been delayed. Puffer Printing has closed. Pasqualina will inquire about the plaques artwork from Puffer and get quotes from Collective and Paradise Copies. Next month Committee will review and finalize the Artist Contract for commissioned Public Art. Denise will remind committee to have suggestions and comments ready to make the lost of our meeting time. The committee will earmark $1000 from funds for the maintenance of the bike rack sculptures on Union St. Pasqualina will ask Michael Poole for pricing on prepping them for painting. Union Street Pop-up Park – N.A.R.’s Placemaking Grant & Smart Growth Grant program put on hold. Pasqualina will contact Brendan for update on program’s status. Next Meeting August 19th @ 5:00 via Zoom
