Easthampton City Arts Public Art Subcommittee

ECA – Public Art Subcommittee Wednesday November 18th, 2020 Meeting Minutes 5:00 Public Speak - Jessica is leaving the committee, she will continue to volunteer when needed. Approval of October 21st minutes – Jamie motioned, Bob seconded, all in approval. Public Sculpture at Council on Aging – The C.O.A. is no longer able to support the proposed sculpture. Because of the pandemic their funding needs to be prioritized for client programming. Artist Contract – The contract was finalized including edits that were made during the meeting. Pasqualina will distribute to committee. Easthampton Map on the pump house has been reinstalled. Donation Policy – Committee will request that ECA be notified of all public art that is proposed for City owned buildings. Pasqualina will find out if it’s advisable for committee members to be present when Policy is brought before City Council. Fender Bender Plaque – A mock up of sign will be sent to committee for review N.A.R.’s application –Because of a scheduling overlap ECA’s application will not be decided until 2/21 Union Street redesign project - Bike racks will stay in place until redesign project begins. Bob will decide if some spot treatment for rust will be beneficial in the meantime. Proposed public art locations were discussed and thought to be problematic, Pasqualina will discuss with Dan Murphy, City Engineer. Next meeting December 16th, 2020
