ECA - Public Art Subcommittee Wednesday August 11, 2021, 5:00 pm Meeting Minutes 5:00 Public Speak – Marcia inquired about the No Idling signs outside of City Hall. Approval of June 23, 30 & 7/6 meeting minutes – Jamie motioned, Marcia seconded, all were in approval. A large wooden fence has been installed on both sides of the bike path where the Ferry Street Gateway to the Mills Pop Up Park is intended. It was determined that a lack of communication between many departments caused this oversight. Jeff has worked with multiple stakeholders to mitigate the circumstances. As a result, a section of the fence immediately affecting the access between and to the pop-up park elements will be removed. The committee reviewed a proposed draft of the voting criteria and made changes. Pasqualina will make final changes and email to committee for review. The committee reviewed and finalized the selection process and schedule of the Ferry Street Gateway to the Mills sculpture proposals. The deadline for proposals will be decided depending on number of submissions, (20 or less move back to September 8) Peggy Grose Mural - Pasqualina briefed committee on her discussions with Mia Stoddard, owner of building on Pine Street where the mural is located. She discussed with committee new ECA funding, recently secured, that could help offset expenses with renovation of mural. More discussions with Peggy are needed for a plan to move forward. Pasqualina will email RFP to AiTO recipients. The Art Report/WHMP will air a segment highlighting the call to artists. Volunteer sculpture – n/a
