ECA Public Arts Committee Meeting December 15th, 2021 Minutes: Present: Tracey Eller, Pasqualina Azarello , Jean-Pierre, Marcia Morrison, Jamie Webb Public Speak: November Meeting Minutes: Marcia motioned to approve, motion seconded, all in favor. Discussion ensued on the Volunteer sculpture regarding funding and time frame of installation; Pasqualina secured funding of $7500 that can be put toward the Volunteer Sculpture making fund raising easier. A discussion followed regarding the reward amount to artist. A question on being equitable toward the artists that have been awarded for current & past projects was brought up. The feeling that raising the amount too much could be seen as unfair since the current award is going for $5000. A few brought up the concern that current pricing of resources has risen making it harder for artists to source materials and make any money for their time. We discussed leaving it $7500/ $8000 vs. $10,000. The discussion was tabled for next meeting as we wanted the whole committee to weigh in. Time frame was also discussed to announce Sculpture at Cultural Chaos as well as the Youth Arts Initiative and Community leadership programs. No new business. Next meeting Jan 19th 2022
