ECA - Public Art Subcommittee Monday June 27, 2022, 5:15 pm Meeting Minutes 5:15 Public Speak - n/a Absent – Jamie, Marcia Approval of May 18th meeting minutes – Bob motioned to approve, Jean-Pierre seconded, and all agreed. Updates – Pasqualina spoke with Brendan Bailey from the National Realtors Association about more grant opportunities for public art. Cottage Street Volunteer Sculpture RFP – The RFP was sent to John Mason and the Parks Dept for approval. Their meeting is on 7/20 and any feedback will be sent to Public Art Committee. The schedule will be adjusted for the two-month delay, but the installation goal remains Cultural Chaos 2023. Union Street Bike Rack – The group discussed various colors for the Clayton/Westbrook bike rack on Union Street. One possibility is a gradation of blues to compliment the district colors indicated on the city wayfinding map. Pantone Blue #785 Pantone Purple #1387 Pasqualina will check with Fluery Lumber about a paint made especially for metal. If viable, this paint would reduce maintenance significantly. Group discussed the idea of putting a 01027-bike rack in the New City area. She will also talk with Michael Poole about the possibility of painting one of his bike racks (that the city already owns) in the same graduated color style, in the case we decide to locate one of his bike racks into the Union Street district. Bob agreed to check on the condition of the bike rack on Main Street. Other – The water sculpture program initiated at Cultural Chaos in June will be grown next year.
