ECA - Public Art Subcommittee Monday September 26th Meeting Minutes 5:15 Public Speak – Marcia proposed a way-finding sign be located at the Union/Main St’s intersection. There are three empty islands, as well as the sidewalk area that could potentially hold a sign. Approval of August 29th meeting minutes – Tracey motioned for approval Bob seconded and all approved. Cottage Street Volunteer Sculpture - Committee discussed the breadth of the Gazette article written about the RFP. Some concerns were mentioned but overall, everyone was pleased with the article. Pasqualina will inform the writer about the committee’s concerns and try to avoid a similar situation in the future. Pasqualina reported the concrete for the sculpture pad will be poured in the next six weeks by the DPW. The group discussed hosting a second ribbon cutting party in addition to Cultural Chaos. Main St 01027 bike rack - An adequate temperature for the metal paint to be applied is 45 degrees. In the next few weeks, Bob and Pasqualina will scrape an area on bike rack to assess the difficulty of the process. Millside Parklet – The damaged way-finding sign will be ordered and replaced in the next six weeks. The replacement will be made of thicker metal and in a smaller size.
