ECA - Public Art Subcommittee Meeting Minutes Wednesday May 3rd, 2023 Absent – Marcia and Tracey 5:00 Public Speak – n/a Approval of March 29th meeting minutes – Jamie motioned for approval, Bob seconded, and all agreed. Public Sculpture on Cottage Street – Pasqualina has notified the winning proposal’s applicants and discussed with them the committee’s questions, which were answered satisfactorily. She will be meeting with them next week and Tracey will take the photo for press release. - Committee asked to view sculpture in studio near its completion to head- off and unforeseen problems. - Orientation of sculpture will be addressed at installation. - Greg (DPW) is aware that the cement needs to be poured at site. New City Neighborhood Infrastructure Project – Pasqualina and Jamie met to discuss grant application. A letter of support from ECA was included. The application is due 5/4 and notification is in July. Union St bike rack – Pasqualina will double check with Dan Murphy that the bike rack will be refurbished and reinstalled when infrastructure project is completed. Pasqualina will refamiliarize herself with the colors chosen to repaint bike racks. Main Street bike rack – Pasqualina will discuss w/ Michael Poole cut existing bike rack from pad, and store at Water Dept., the holes need to be filled and install purple bike rack at Main St location the same day. concrete pad at pond – John Mason, Parks Dept, will be installing a bench at this site. The committee briefly discussed a mural proposal that the mayor received directly from local artists.
