December 4, 2024 ECA Public Art Meeting Meeting Minutes Present – Pasqualina, Jean-Pierre, Tracey, Marcia, Robert, Denise 5:15 Public Speak – Marcia informed us that Cottage Street finally has a street sign! She also questioned whether the Union St bike rack will need to be relocated because there is a bench where it used to be. Pasqualina will confirm with Diane Rossi-Smith, City Engineer, • The future location of the bike rack • That the bike rack is indeed being repainted per agreement • Where the public art locations are on Union Street • Is the City planting trees on Union in the spring Pasqualina informed us that a City Planner has been hired, Allyson Manuel, former City Planner of W. Springfield. Approval of November minutes – Bob moved to approve, Marcia seconded and all were in agreement. The Pine Street mural restoration project as well as Easthampton Storyscape and Good Times at the Mills have been added to the ECA website. Pine Street mural merchandize was discussed. Jean-Pierre will investigate puzzle companies, Tracey will get puzzle company info to Pasqualina. Pasqualina will investigate totes and magnets. Pasqualina reported that the hard cost of the restoration of the Pine Street mural was $601.46 ECA is discussing programing and merchandise to help celebrate the 20th anniversary in 2025. Pasqualina will ask the ECA committee for $1000 to serve as a “starter kit” for the Public Art committee to purchase merchandise. New plaque matching Center of the Universe’s will be purchased from PIP. Pasqualina will draft paragraph on municipal payment procedures to add to Artist Agreement and will send out for review. She will also draft additional sign for Pine St mural refurbishment. Have a Heart for Public Art will be on March 2nd, 2025. We will keep the jazz brunch theme with piano and singing. Marcia will ask Jim Argero if he’s interested in working the event. Easthampton Clay will act as project support for the mosaic mural. Pasqualina will attempt to contact Mike Banas owner of 101 Main St, a possible location for the mural.
