Easthampton Cultural Council Minutes Date: May 21, 2024 Time: 5:30pm Location: 50 Payson, Conf. Rm B; 01027 and remote (via Zoom) In Attendance: Steven Collicelli; Sean Collins; Chandler Frantz; Nancy Natale, (remotely) Jo Cater; Felicia Jadczak 1. Approval of April meeting minutes- Steve motions to approve the minutes; Nancy seconds 2. Public Speak (none) 3. 2024 grantee updates and liaison logistics a. A number of grantees are still inquiring about the delay in payments; MCC has sent payment to Easthampton government, so checks should be sent out soon b. Nancy met with organizer of Philosophy in the Orchard to firm up details c. Reminder to liaisons to confirm MCC logo inclusion in promotional materials 4. Financial Update- Easthampton has received funds from the MCC, so payments to grantees are expected soon 5. Cultural Chaos planning a. ECC will be tabling and Felicia has paid the $25 tabling fee b. Grantees are welcome to contribute materials about their events and spend time at the table c. ECC will launch our annual Public Input survey at Cultural Chaos d. ECC will also use its presence at ECC to inform the public of ECC volunteer opportunities (recruit potential new members 6. Survey Planning proposals a. Spanish language version b. Condensed survey, fewer questions c. Potential dates for MCC-mandated public meeting about ECC 7. Easthampton City Arts update- a. Cultural Chaos is happening; b. May 4 was the first Arts Walk on the new 1st Saturday date c. New public sculpture unveiled on Cottage Street 8. New business- Given that the entire council began their terms together, we should plan to both recruit new members and consider voluntary early departures, in order to maintain institutional knowledge and avoid repeating another complete turnover of members 9.
