Meeting minutes 9.29.2021 call to order by Beth Tiffany 6:36 PM Beth Tiffany read Mayor LaChapelle’s Policy #9 for Suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law….. due to Covid. Roll call:, Beth Tiffany, Elaine Wood, Amy Marsters, MaryLou Dodge, Kisha Zullo all present Guests: none Last month’s meeting minutes 9.01.2021 motioned by Marylou seconded by Elaine for approval. Herbicide treatment for invasive plants and prolific macrophytes was completed on 7/14/2021 by Solitude; we will wait for the invoice. Paul sent an email : “ I can report however that the two silt basin final inspections went very well. Con Com, GZA, Parks and Rec., Engineering, and Public works were all very pleased. The contractor was there for questions as well.” Cyanobacteria - Paul is trying to contact the environmentalist with GZA regarding the use of barely straw for Cyanobacteria blooms. Pat and Paul are getting ready to get things moving with the Christmas tree. They’re hoping to get the barge painted and with newer floats for this year. Still want to follow up - Beth asked about the bascule gate for the dam. How does it work and who decides to adjust it when? Was it adjusted for hurricane Henri? Farmer’s Market we are going 10/3/2021 to set up a tent. Winterfest - To advertise Winterfest - USE GOOGLE DOC’S AS WE DID BEFORE the Timely APP, PER LIZ. Items of interest to consider: photo contest perhaps ask for donation for each, a link to the donation page. snowflake contest, trivia contest, storefront contest, Mt Tom ice cream flavor, coloring contest. Ask Katie McCallum if she would do the scavenger hunt, snow sculpture again. Face in the Hole - do we see about adjusting it or ask the public for any volunteers to make one? NO Do we see if we can do the Ice Harvest with Picard? YES - BETH When we have an idea of what we want to do, we ask for a Winterfest sub-committee of volunteers. Elaine was contacted by Chris Ferry (sp?) a resident that would like to do a film festival for Winterfest, he will be in touch. I will edit the sponsorship list with Amy, should be done to send out in early October.Continued to review Winterfest activities and assign responsibilities. We need a theme or word for Winterfest - ideas - Resilient; Celebrate 2022; Starry; Glamour….
