Nashawannuck Pond Steering Committee Meeting 3/27/2024 call to order by Paul Nowak 5:35 PM
Roll call: Beth Tiffany, Amy Marsters, Elaine Wood, Veronica Franz-Eggleston , Hillary Ballentine, Guest: none
Approve meeting minutes from:2/28/24 Elaine motioned, Veronica seconded, all approved.
● Shoreline stabilization Paul asked for a breakout of the worst one area 3 east, 1 place. Price for that
quote was received 12/26/23 $9,700. Paul signed and they held the price, Now we wait for GZA to
organize and we will invite Con Comm, Planning Jamie Webb, Park & Rec John Mason, Mayor
LaChapelle, Gary Golas, Paul Davis. Paul Nowak to forward info to Jamie and John for a heads up.
● Barley Straw project will be 4/20, on schedule. Easthampton Media has agreed to film and interview
on 4/20 at both locations.
● FONP would like to “buy out” the T- shirts and sweatshirts from the City account, so all merchandise
profits will go to FONP. T-shirts $296, sweatshirts $732 total $1028. Motion made to approve buyout
made by Elaine, seconded Hillary; all approved.
● Cultural Chaos is 6/8, mark your calendars. I am watching Easthampton City Arts website for
application and there may be a $25 fee this year, which will be paid for by FONP.
● Beth will post for a new member on FB & newsletter. We will use the same ask for skills that we did
for Veronica.
● Gary Golas got the Extension for herbicide / algaecide from Con Comm and Paul signed and paid for
the extension, FONP reimbursed him.
● WINTERFEST follow up
● Reviewed all takeaways: Chili - make sure everyone brings the same amount and perhaps
ask Big E if they will again donate supplies in kind.
● Meeting Adjourned 6:30. Motion Amy, Elaine second.
