Call to Order 2. Pledge of Allegiance 3. City Council to consider the mayor’s interim city manager appointment and associated employment agreement. Josh Ney discussed the employment agreement with City Council. He recommended to change is to add the following in section 1: if there is an employee hired to fill a vacancy, terminated, or who receives a salary or compensation change, the employee will notify the governing body before or at the next regular City Council meeting. The second recommended change is section 1, which would strike the following provision: Additionally, employees shall give at least 48 hours' notice to the members of the governing body by email of intent to hire any employee to fill a vacant position before hiring such employee. The third recommended change is upon return to the previous position of assistant city manager, the employee acknowledges that he shall be paid at his previous salary rate with any regular or otherwise approved salary increase applicable to staff, so the rate that was effective prior to his appointment as interim city manager, provided that nothing in this agreement should prevent the employee from receiving salary raises or other adjustments pursuant to standard city policies or other actions after expiration of this agreement. The mayor appointed Doug Gerber as the interim City Manager subject to the approval of the council and subject to a signed contract effective June 23, 2026. Josh Ney recommended a motion: to consent to the appointment of Doug Gerber as the interim city manager subject to such terms. • Motion: Councilmember Shriver so moved the recommended motion. • Second: Councilmember Everhart seconded the motion. • Vote: Passed, 4-0. Josh Ney recommended a motion: City Council would authorize the mayor to enter into a contract with substantial compliance with the terms outlined.
