Election of Officers: Chairperson, Vice Chair, Secretary • Chairperson: Tom Doyle appointed unanimously. • Vice Chair: Keith Barr appointed unanimously. • Secretary: Jeff Percell appointed unanimously. 7. Public Comment • No public comment. 8. Member Reports • Tom Doyle noted money for EcoCycle to make the Concerts in the Park zero-waste was previously approved by the town. However, an additional concert date has been added. The Chamber sponsors the Erie Brewfest zero waste event. • Tom Doyle indicated there is a volunteer opportunity to educate people about recycling at the Erie Brewfest this coming weekend. • Tom Doyle to send out the Partners in Energy report. 9. Trustee Liaison Report • Get Anna’s name spelled correctly on the web page at https://www.erieco.gov/1422/Sustainability-Advisory-Board (Christiaan sent an email to Katie Hanson). • What is the interaction between the Sustainability Board and Staff? Will there be a designated representative? Christiaan to investigate. • Christiaan to follow up on the process to appropriate funds for EcoCycle for zero-waste Concerts in the Park. • Christiaan to talk with Amy Teetzel about moving documents generated by the Sustainability Ad-Hoc Committee from Google Drive to Sharepoint 10. Staff Report • No Staff representation in attendance. 11. Old Business • NA 12. New Business • Review Ordinance #14-2018 • Review Survey Results from Sustainability Ad-Hoc Committee • Review end of year presentation from Sustainability Ad-Hoc Committee o This included review of the Sustainability Master Action Plan Outline. The ordinance states the Board is to get the master plan approved by the Board of Trustees by December 31, 2019. At next meeting the Board would like to take the actions to discuss and agree upon the structure of the Master Plan, as well as outline a schedule and key milestones for the TOWN OF ERIE Page 2 Printed on 10/3/2018 Sustainability Advisory Board Meeting Minutes June 6, 2018 creation of the plan. o Other ideas include: o Solar panel incentives – why doesn’t every new home in Erie have solar? o Get every new home solar-ready (UDC amendment). o Old Town Recycling/Composting – something like an HOA for collective bargaining. o Reclaimed water use for watering open spaces, as is now done in Colliers Hill. o Electric vehicle charging stations 13. Other Regularly scheduled monthly meetings will be held on the first Wednesday of the month at 5:45 pm.
