LS&S Staff Present: Dara Bradds; Library Director and Katy Duperry, Assistant Librarian City Staff Present: Zack Beck, City Clerk ORAL COMMUNICATIONS None. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Approval of Minutes from the Library Board of Trustees Meeting on December 8, 2022 Motion: Schwab Second: Gorny Approved: 4-0 (Clemens – Absent) CURRENT BUSINESS 2. Strategic Plan Goals Section 1: Community Hub/Cultural Connector Dara Bradds reported that the Escondido Library has partnered with the San Diego Library to offer Law Library Hours at the Escondido Library. 3. Review of By-laws Motion to add “prior approval” language to Section 3.4; strike Sections 5.4, 5.6, 7.2 and accept all other proposed changes in the draft bylaws: Clemens Second: Guiles Approved: 5-0 4. February 2023 City Council Presentation President Clemens reviewed the draft City Council presentation with the Board of Trustees. Schwab – Reviewed the children’s section of the Library. Guiles – Went to the Library with his 8-year old granddaughter. Commended Library staff for their professionalism and positivity. Bunnell – Pleased with the Library service at the Escondido High School District as well as the Adult Literacy program. Clemens – Visited the Library with family visiting from out-of-town.
