Thursday, July 19, 2018 – 8:30-10:30 A.M. – Atrium Building, Sloat Room I. Public Comment Up to 10 minutes will be reserved for public comment regarding historic preservation issues, except for any items scheduled for public hearing. II. Introduction of New Board Members On July 9, 2018, Eugene City Council made the following appointments to the HRB: a. Daniel Lombardi for a full term ending June 30, 2022 b. Richard Steers for an unexpired term ending June 30, 2020 (taking Zarina Bell’s seat) c. Sarah Shmigelsky (reappointment) for a full term ending June 30, 2022 III. Historic Restoration Grant Requests - Deliberation and Action a. 1006 Taylor Street (C’est La Vie Inn) – requests $6,000 for roof and soffit repair; trim; painting; and landscaping b. 291 West 8th Avenue (WOW Hall) – requests approximately $3,000 to continue window restoration program and historic tree preservation project c. 1117 West 11th Avenue – requests $21,000 for siding and trim repair/painting Total grant funding available is approximately $5,265. The HRB should consider the projects and allocate remaining funds appropriately. IV. Preservation Planning Projects Staff seeks clarification and prioritization of upcoming historic preservation planning activities. Our State CLG grant has awarded funding to retain a contractor for National Register nomination assistance—board members should prioritize building types, historical themes, and geographic focus. V. Info Share/Updates Time-permitting, staff and HRB members are encouraged to provide any brief informational updates to staff and the board.
