Staff is specifically seeking direction and input from the Planning Commission on the following work plan aspects: Project list and scope (new projects are shaded in grey) Prioritization of projects BRIEFING STATEMENT: The Planning Division’s work plan is reviewed and approved on an annual basis by the Planning Commission and the City Council. A meeting will be scheduled with the City Council to review the draft work plan over the summer. In the meantime, staff has produced the attached draft work plan for comment by Planning Commissioners. Based on these comments, the work plan will be further refined and put out for public review. It is anticipated that a web survey will be utilized to solicit public comment and will be advertised through the City’s website and other available resources. The annual report and work plan document will be similar to last years, including photos, graphics, and additional information on work plan items, as well as the annual report for FY09. Something new this year, is the addition of more specific information regarding the anticipated amount of staff resources dedicated to each work plan item. This is expressed as a percentage of total resources and is illustrated in the accompanying pie chart. While this is an excellent tool for prioritizing work plan items and tracking resources, we recognize that these percentages are estimates, and are subject to change.
