CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Holland - 5:30 p.m.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF QUORUM AND PROPER NOTICE
Present: 4- Commissioner Linda Bob; Commissioner Carla Gnann-Thompson;
Vice-Mayor Karen LeHeup-Smith; and Mayor Michael Holland
Absent: 1 - Commissioner Bill Brett
I. CONSIDERATION
16101 Consideration of Process for Appointment of Interim Commissioner
Mayor Holland explained the need to appoint an interim commissioner to fill Seat #2 due to the
resignation of Commissioner Brett, effective May 20, 2016. He further explained that if the
Commission does not appoint an interim within 30 days, the Governor will be tasked with appointing
a replacement. He reviewed the proposed process and asked the Commission if they wanted to
follow the previously used process.
A motion was made by Vice-Mayor LeHeup-Smith, seconded by Commissioner
Gnann-Thompson, to utilize the proposed application and appointment process. The
motion carried by the following vote:
Aye: 4- Commissioner Bob; Commissioner Gnann-Thompson; Vice-Mayor LeHeup-Smith; and
Mayor Holland
Mayor Holland asked for consideration of the proposed timeframe for the application period of May
23 through May 27 with a special meeting to be held on June 9th for consideration of the
applications.
A motion was made by Vice-Mayor LeHeup-Smith, seconded by Commissioner Bob, to
approve the proposed application timeframe of May 23rd through May 27th and scheduling
of a special meeting on June 9th for consideration of the applications. The motion carried
by the following vote:
Aye: 4 - Commissioner Bob; Commissioner Gnann-Thompson; Vice-Mayor LeHeup-Smith; and
Mayor Holland

III. COMMISSION DIRECTION
Mayor Holland summarized for the audience the process to be used for consideration of the
applications and announced the application period would be from May 23rd through May 27th with a
special meeting to be held on June 9th.
