CITY OF EVERETT CULTURAL ARTS COMMISSION MINUTES November 13, 2018 – 5 pm Van Valey House 2130 Colby Avenue Commissioners Present: Alison Musch, Elizabeth Person, Rosemary Jones, Maren Oates, Deb Fox, Cheryl Davis, Diane Wright, Kristen Keenan, Jason Grim, Kati Nickerson joined the meeting by phone. Commissioners Absent: Hugh Denny, Jasmin Wisecarver-Baron, Cat Snapp Staff: Carol Thomas, Lisa Newland Guests: None. Acceptance of October Minutes: Elizabeth Person made a motion to accept the February Minutes. Jason Grim seconded. All in favor. None opposed. Cultural Arts Commission- election of Board Chair and Vice Chair. At the December Cultural Arts Commission meeting, the commissioners will elect a Board Chair and Vice Chair. The term is for one year, January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2019. Wendt and Mayor’s Arts Awards Nominations Cultural Commissioners reviewed all the nominations for the Kati Nickerson joined the discussion via cell phone. Commission made the following awards:  Wendt Award of Excellence o Saundra Cope & Walt Gilette  Arts Educator o Raniere of Imagine Children’s Museum  Arts Changing Lives o Mary Toews of Mari’s Place  Organization Making an Impact o Pacifica Chamber Orchestra  Catalyst for Emerging Artists o Live in Everett  Artist in the Community A o Deb Fox Meeting adjourned at 6:25 p.m. Next Meeting: December 11, 2018, 5 pm Downtown Library Community Room
