CITY OF EVERETT CULTURAL ARTS COMMISSION MINUTES December 11, 2018 – 5 pm Downtown Library, 2702 Hoyt Avenue Main floor activity room Commissioners Present: Alison Musch, Elizabeth Person, Rosemary Jones, Maren Oates, Deb Fox, Diane Wright, Kristen Keenan, Hugh Denny Commissioners Absent: Yasmin Wisecarver-Baron, Cat Snapp, Jason Grim, Cheryl Davis, Kati Nickerson Guests: Hadassah Jones Staff: Carol Thomas, Lisa Newland, Kimberly Shelton Acceptance of November Minutes: Maren Oates made a motion to accept the November Minutes. Diane Wright seconded. All in favor. None opposed. Election of Board Chair and Vice Chair, effective Jan 1 2019 – Dec 31 2019 Deb Fox was nominated for the position of Board Chair and Kristen Keenan was nominated for position of Vice Chair. All were in favor. How many scholarships do they offer?  Imagine Children’s Museum- guest artist performer series- are those events ever offered on free days? Revising the 2020 application – Cultural Arts Commissioners will revise next year’s grant application to reflect the commission’s core value: engaging underserved youth and community, cost per person served, greatest impact for grants funded, etc. Commission will establish a sub-committee to draft the questions. Wendt and Mayor’s Arts Awards- event overview Brainstorming session:  What do we want to accomplish in 2019?  Do we want to establish work groups outside of the regular commission meetings?  Field trips to Everett Art organizations?  Guest speakers?
