The regular meeting of the Ev erett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., March 13, 2013 in the City Council Chambers of
the Ev erett City Hall, President Moore presiding. Upon roll call it was f ound that Council Members Moore, Murphy, Bader,
Stonecipher and Af f holter were present. May or Stephanson and Council Members Roberts and Gipson were excused.
Council President Moore led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The minutes of the March 6, 2013 City Council meeting were approv ed as printed. Council Member Af f holter abstained f rom the
v ote.
COUNCIL
Council President Moore extended his condolences to Council Member Bader on the loss of his f ather.
President Moore requested the council member’s concurrence regarding the f ollowing appointments:
Salary Commission
June Robinson as City Council’s appointment f or a 4-y ear term ending March 13, 2017
Angie Siev ers as City Council’s appointment f or a 4-y ear term ending March 13, 2017
Mov ed by Council Member Af f holter, seconded by Council Member Stonecipher to concur with the appointments of June
Robinson and Angie Siev ers to the Salary Commission.
Roll was called with all council members v oting y es except Council Members Roberts and Gipson who were excused.
Motion carried.
CITY ATTORNEY
The City Attorney had no comments.

No citizens wished to speak.
COUNCIL BRIEFING AGENDA
Council Member Af f holter stated that he is an employ ee of the Economic Alliance of Snohomish County on a f ixed salary, that
he has not discussed any contract issues with any other council member, and that he f eels it is best that he recuse himself f rom
any discussions that take place with the Economic Alliance of Snohomish County and to remov e himself f rom the council
chambers during this brief ing.

Gail Chism, Ev erett, expressed her support f or the name “Wetmore Theatre Plaza” and stated that Jack O’Donnell has pictures
that she would like to see incorporated into the plaza.

Day Street Fair sponsored by the Y MCA of Snohomish County with the condition that personnel be on site to prov ide immediate
access f or emergency v ehicles in the ev ent of an emergency.

GRANT – PURCHASE EQUIPMENT ADDRESSING TRAFFIC SAFETY
Mov ed by Council Member Stonecipher, seconded by Council Member Bader, to authorize the May or to sign the Washington
Association of Sherif f s and Police Chief s Traf f ic Saf ety Equipment Grant Award CFDA #20.600 to accept $2,500.00 to purchase
equipment addressing traf f ic saf ety.
