CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING VIA TEAMS Minutes from Meeting on May 28, 2020 I. CALL TO ORDER The meeting commenced at 10:03 am. The meeting was called to order by Civil Service Examiner Michael Duerr and conducted via Teams rather than in person due to COVID -19 precautions. Those in virtual attendance were: Michael Duerr, Kay Barnes, Roger Vares, and Chelan Robbins. II. ROLL CALL OF THE COMMISSION Present via Teams were Commissioner Ethel McNeal, Commissioner Eileen Simmons, and Legal Counsel Jordan Stevens. III. SUBMITTAL AND APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Commissioner McNeal moved to approve the minutes of the February 27, 2020 meeting. Commissioner Simmons seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. IV. REVIEW OF THE PERSONNEL ACTION REPORT Commissioner McNeal moved to approve the Personnel Action Report for February – April 2020. Commissioner Simmons seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. V. REVIEW OF THE CHIEF EXAMINER APPROVAL OF CALLS FOR APPLICANTS Commissioner McNeal moved to approve the Chief Examiner Approvals of Calls for Applicants for February – May 2020. Commissioner Simmons seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. VI. REVIEW OF THE CHIEF EXAMINER CERTIFICATIONS OF ELIGIBLE REGISTERS Commissioner McNeal moved to approve the Chief Examiner Certifications of Eligible Registers for February - May 2020. Commissioner Simmons seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. VII. REVIEW OF THE CHIEF EXAMINER CERTIFICATIONS OF REHIRE REGISTERS Commissioner McNeal moved to approve the Chief Examiner Certification of Rehire Registers for February – May 2020. Commissioner Simmons seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. VIII. OLD BUSINESS IX. NEW BUSINESS A. Class Specifications and Call for Applicants (CFAs) 1. Approve the Revised Class Specification for Firefighter Paramedic Civil Service Commission Meeting May 28, 2020 Page 2 Commissioner McNeal moved to approve the Revised Class Specification for Firefighter Paramedic. Commissioner Simmons seconded the motion with the grammatical change on page two, changing the singular ‘condition’ to the plural ‘conditions’. The motion was approved unanimously. X.
