CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING VIA TEAMS Minutes from Meeting on January 28, 2021 I. CALL TO ORDER The meeting commenced at 10:03 am. Those in virtual attendance were Michael Duerr and Chelan Robbins. II. ROLL CALL OF THE COMMISSION Present via Teams were Commissioner Ethel McNeal, Commissioner Eileen Simmons, and Legal Counsel Jordan Stephens. Commissioner Jacob Vail was absent. III. ELECTION OF COMMISSION CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR FOR 2021 Commissioner Ethel McNeal moved to nominate Commissioner Eileen Simmons to the position of Chair. Commissioner Eileen Simmons seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. Commission Chair Eileen Simmons moved to nominate Commissioner Ethel McNeal to the position of Vice- Chair. Commissioner Ethel McNeal seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. IV. SUBMITTAL AND APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Commissioner McNeal moved to approve the minutes of the December 17, 2020 meeting. Commission Chair Simmons seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. V. REVIEW OF THE PERSONNEL ACTION REPORT Commissioner McNeal moved to approve the Personnel Action Report for October. Commission Chair Simmons seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. VI. REVIEW OF THE CHIEF EXAMINER APPROVAL OF CALLS FOR APPLICANTS Commissioner McNeal moved to approve the Chief Examiner Approvals of Calls for Applicants for October. Commission Chair Simmons seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. VII. REVIEW OF THE CHIEF EXAMINER CERTIFICATIONS OF ELIGIBLE REGISTERS Commissioner McNeal moved to approve the Chief Examiner Certifications of Eligible Registers for September. Commission Chair Simmons seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. VIII. NEW BUSINESS 1. Commissioner McNeal moved to approve the revised Small Tool and Equipment Repair Class Specification with the corrected grammatical error on page 2. Commission Chair Simmons seconded the motion. Commissioner McNeal moved to approve the new Class Specification for Civil Design Technician with the corrected grammatical error on page 1. Commission Chair Simmons seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. IX. OTHER BUSINESS Commissioner McNeal moved to approve the 2021 Civil Service Meeting Schedule. Commission Chair Simmons seconded the motion.
