CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING VIA TEAMS Minutes from Meeting on December 16, 2021 The meeting commenced at 10:00 am. Those in virtual attendance was Chief Examiner Michael Duerr, Kay Barnes, Danielle Marks, and Chelan Robbins. ROLL CALL OF THE COMMISSION Present via Teams were Commissioner Ethel McNeal, Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin, and Legal Counsel Amy Allision. SUBMITTAL AND APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Commissioner McNeal moved to approve the minutes of the November 18, 2021 meeting. Commissioner Metzger-Levin seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. REVIEW OF THE PERSONNEL ACTION REPORT Commissioner McNeal moved to approve the Personnel Action Report November 2021. Commissioner Metzger-Levin seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. REVIEW OF THE CHIEF EXAMINER APPROVAL OF CALLS FOR APPLICANTS Commissioner McNeal moved to approve the Chief Examiner Approvals of Calls for Applicants for December 2021. Commissioner Metzger-Levin seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. REVIEW OF THE CHIEF EXAMINER CERTIFICATIONS OF ELIGIBLE REGISTERS Commissioner McNeal moved to approve the Chief Examiner Certifications of Eligible Registers for December 2021. Commissioner Metzger-Levin seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. NEW BUSINESS Civil Service Chief Examiner Mike Duerr presented the reasoning behind the need for additional language to the Civil Service Rules to address candidates who do not show up to scheduled and confirmed hiring interviews. The candidates are already on a certified register and this rule allows the Chief Examiner to remove the candidates who ‘no-show’ to their interview time with exemptions made for illness or other emergency situations. Commissioner McNeal moved to approve the Civil Service Commission Rule 2.13.5. Commissioner Metzger-Levin seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. OTHER BUSINESS Commissioner McNeal moved to approve the Civil Service Commission meeting dates for 2022. Commissioner Metzger-Levin seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously.
