CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING Minutes from Meeting June 22, 2023 The meeting commenced at 9:30 a.m. Staff members in virtual attendance were Michael Duerr. ROLL CALL OF THE COMMISSION Present via Teams were Commission Chair Ethel McNeal, Commissioner Scott Bader, Commissioner Jo Metzger- Levin, Legal Counsel Amy Allison, and Legal Counsel Christine Svihus. SUBMITTAL AND APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Commissioner Scott Bader moved to approve the meeting minutes of the May 25, 2023. Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin second the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. PUBLIC COMMENT No public in attendance. No public comment submitted by correspondence. REVIEW OF THE PERSONNEL ACTION REPORT Commissioner Scott Bader moved to approve the Personnel Action Report for May 2023. Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. REVIEW OF THE CHIEF EXAMINER APPROVAL OF CALLS FOR APPLICANTS Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin moved to approve the Chief Examiner Approvals of Calls for Applicants for June 2023. Commission Scott Bader seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. REVIEW OF THE CHIEF EXAMINER CERTIFICATIONS OF ELIGIBLE REGISTERS Commissioner Scott Bader moved to approve the Chief Examiner Certifications of Eligible Registers for June 2023. Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. NEW BUSINESS Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin moved to approve the new special classification specification for Fleet Maintenance Supervisor. Commissioner Scott Bader seconded the motion, and requested more information about the need for the classification. Staff reported that this was intended to replace the generic classification of Supervisor II in the Motor Vehicles Division. The intent is to better define the duties that a supervisor does in motor vehicles regarding fleet specific maintenance rather than just a generic supervisor. The motion was approved unanimously.
