Item 1: Shoreline Master Program Periodic Update – Joint Public Hearing
The City of Everett and Washington State Department of Ecology are conducting a joint public
review of Everett’s Shoreline Master Program (SMP) and seek public comment on the proposed
amendments, including revision of implementing code and comprehensive plan provisions. The
January 16, 2019 version of the proposed SMP is available on the project webpage at
https://everettwa.gov/1836/Shoreline-Master-Program-Periodic-Review. The 30-day public
comment period began January 15th and extends through February 15, 2019, until 5

Item 2: Critical Areas Public Hearing
A public hearing to consider amendments to the city’s critical areas ordinance and its
applicability to areas subject to the Shoreline Management Act. The proposal is to have one set
of critical area regulations applicable throughout the city, and to update the code to include
latest guidance on protected species and buffers.

Item 3: Land Use Element Briefing
A briefing on amendments to the city’s Land Use Element. Prior briefings focused on the land
use consolidation proposal. This briefing will look at the addition of East Marine View Drive as a
gateway corridor and amendments to Special Geographic Areas Land Use Policies
