COMPREHENSIVE PLAN PERIODIC UPDATE PUBLIC HEARING - SCOPING Staff will provide a short briefing on the comprehensive plan periodic update process and status, followed by an opportunity for the public to address the planning commission with comments about the scope of the update. ACCESSORY DWELLING UNITS Accessory dwelling units (ADUs) provide important opportunities for new, and usually affordable, housing options in established neighborhoods at a relatively small scale. Reducing and simplifying regulations for development of accessory units can also help meet city goals related to housing affordability, variety, ownership, and capacity. At its March 1 meeting, the planning commission will hear a briefing on accessory dwelling units and will be asked for feedback on potential amendments to development regulations.
