EVERETT SALARY REVIEW COMMISSION MEETING April 20, 2017, 5:00 PM Mayor’s Conference Room Those present: Commission Members: Chris Adams, via phone conference Tony Anthonissen Angie Sievers Kevin Sylvester, via phone conference Bobby Thompson Art Thomson Excused: John Dickson City Staff: Bob Bolerjack, Executive Director Sharon DeHaan, Labor Relations/Human Resources Director Joni Siewert, Labor Relations/Human Resources Department, minutes Christina Wiersma, City Attorney’s Office The meeting commenced 5:00 PM. April 11, 2017 Minutes Commission chair Angie Sievers asked for comments on the minutes from the last meeting. Art Thomson noted errors on some last names. Bobby Thompson made a motion to approve the April 11, 2017 minutes with last name errors noted. Art Thomson seconded. The motion carried. PUBLIC HEARING #2 Angie Sievers opened the second public hearing. There were no guests. The meeting would be left open until 5:15 PM. While waiting, Bob Bolerjack said he will put together a file for the next Charter Review Committee, which will meet in 9 years, to address the compression issue between the Mayor and the employees immediately behind that position. Tony Anthonissen suggested adjusting the dates the Salary Review Commission follows to go with the dates of the cost of living index the City uses. Everett Salary Review Commission 1 April 20, 2017 Bobby Thompson suggested charting other jurisdictions’ salaries to see how they increase over time. Sharon DeHaan added it would be interesting to see how many of those jurisdictions have citizens’ committees. Bob Bolerjack pointed out there will be four more salary reviews before there is another charter review. There were no guests. At 5:15 PM Angie Sievers called for a motion to close the public hearing. Bobby Thompson made a motion, seconded by Tony Anthonissen, to close the public hearing. The motion carried. Salary Schedule for 2018 - 2019 Angie Sievers called for a vote to approve the Salary Schedule as drafted. Chris Adams, Angie Sievers, Kevin Sylvester, Bobby Thompson, Art Thomson voted yes.
