REPORTS
Member Sharing
As this was the first meeting for newly appointed manager Bob Dvorak, each attendee introduced
themselves and their background.
Sue Johnson shared that she does factory tours at Boeing and is an “outside in” person, meaning she
does not currently attend the senior center but shares a passion for the population. She is happy to
see that Bob is here and had the great experience of Snohomish Senior Center, infusing new energy
into the center.
Bob introduced himself and shared that he has been the director at the Snohomish Senior center for
5 1/2 years. He moved around with corporate jobs and consulting jobs, settling in Washington. Bob
stated that for the first couple of weeks on the job, he will just be observing to see what’s going on,
engage with the members, make sure they feel safe and know they have a friend.
Meet with the staff and see what we might want to change and build upon.
In Snohomish he started the thrift store and created a revenue stream. Wants to understand how it
works here and apply his business acumen to a family inclusive environment.
Laura Burton welcomed Bob, is from Windermere and stated that the market appears to be looking
up and she is very busy now that the election has passed.

November 15, 2016 Minutes – 2016 Senior Center Advisory Board
Lynne Worley from Arlington Health and Rehab has worked in healthcare for most of her career. She
announced that Arlington Rehab is downsizing to 55 beds and renovating the older part of their
building. Lynne also mentioned that her term is up at the end of December. Lori encouraged her to
re-up for another term.
Discussion was had about the USO dance. The dance went well with over 375 attendees. It was also
featured in an article in the Everett Herald on Saturday.
All agreed that there will be some seniors who are anxious about the election results and we need
to remain neutral. It is important to be sensitive to their concerns about the future.
Lisa reviewed the project status update report.
NEW BUSINESS
Lisa mentioned that we will need to replace one of the Macys. Lori said she can send out the link for
the board application.
Lori announced that December 13th is the boards and commissions holiday reception hosted by the
Mayor. Board members should receive an invite next week.
Possible agenda items for the future:
Tax help?
When does SHIBA come here? Bring someone in to talk with the Board?
This is the season for health insurance enrollment.
Motion made and seconded to close the meeting at 8:50 am.
The next Advisory Board Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December20th at 8 am. The Senior Center
Staff will bring holiday goodies to the meeting.
