MINUTES
1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER
Meeting was called to order by Craig Spencer (City Manager & Staff Liaison) at 6:31 pm.

4. PRESENTATIONS
A. Welcome & Orientation by Staff
Craig Spencer provided a welcoming statement to all members of the board. Each member
introduced themselves and provided a brief summary of their background.
B. Review of the Committee's Purpose, Powers, and Duties as defined by the City Council
Craig Spencer provided each member of the board with a copy of the Resolution creating the
board, the Everman City Charter, and the City Council, Boards, Commissions, and
Committees Rules and Procedures. Craig Spencer provided a brief review of the documents
and advised each member that they were legislatively required to complete the Open Meetings
Act training. Craig Spencer reviewed the rules of decorum and provided brief training on how
meetings were handled.

6. CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION
A. Election of Committee Chair
Susan Burgess Moved to appoint Dani Soria as the Chair for the board. Seconded by Herman
West. All voted Aye.
B. Election of Committee Vice-Chair
Dani Soria moved for Herman West to be appointed as the Vice Chair of the board. Chris
McIntire seconded the motion. All voted Aye.
C. Establish Month Regular Meeting Dates & Times
Susan Burgess moved to set monthly meetings on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm.
Dani Soria seconded the motion. All voted Aye.
7. DISCUSSION ITEMS
A. Public Safety Report - Everman PD will provide an overview of recent public safety statistics,
trends, and strategies
Craig Spencer provided a presentation to the board members discussing the current staffing
and structure of the police department. Additionally, Spencer discussed recent crime trends
and statistics indicating that there has been an increase in violent crime in recent years.
Spencer also discussed recent years' major cases that have occurred in public spaces.
B. Discussion of Future Agenda Items, Presentations, and Activies of the Committee
Board Members discussed staff bringing back information for future agenda discussions on the
following:
-Potential Cameras at Johnson Park
-Report indicating offenses by age and residential status (resident of Everman, or not)
-Citizens on Patrol Program Options
-Boys and Girls Club program options
-Fort Worth Police Department Programs and Strategies
-Staff research and recommendations related to the operation of the Johnson Park Basketball
Court

D. Section 551.074 - Personnel Matters.
E. Section 551.087- Deliberation Regarding Economic Development Negotiations.
F. Section 551.089 - Deliberations Regarding Security Devices or Security Audits.
Citizens wishing to submit written comments should e-mail the City Secretary at mparks@evermantx.net.
Comments that are received at least one-hour prior to the start of the meeting will be provided to all
council members.
According to the City of Everman Policy on Governance Process, individual citizen comments will be
restricted to three (3) minutes unless otherwise determined by a majority vote of the Council. The mayor
is responsible to enforce the time limit. Citizens may address City Council either during the Citizen
Comments portion of the meeting or during deliberation of a listed agenda item. City Council is only
permitted by Law to discuss items that are listed on the agenda. Citizens wishing to make comments
should notify the City Secretary as soon as possible.
City Hall is wheelchair accessible. Parking spaces for disabled citizens are available. Requests for sign
interpretative services must be made 48 hours prior to the meeting. To make arrangements, call
