City of Excelsior Hennepin County, Minnesota Minutes Heritage Preservation Commission Special Meeting Saturday, April 8, 2023, 9:00 a.m. 1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL Chair O’Hanlon called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Other Commissioners Present: Caron, Bolles, Mark, Dahlstrom Commissioners Absent: Brattland, Gephart Also Present: Kevin Staunton, Assistant City Manager/City Attorney 2. AGENDA APPROVAL 3. TRAINING SESSION a) General Commission Training – Kevin Staunton presented information regarding the Commission’s role, the data practices act, the open meeting law, and other legal obligations of commissioners. b) Heritage Preservation Specific Training – Tim Caron presented information regarding heritage preservation including the use of the Secretary of the Interiors Standards and how they should be utilized in reviewing applications. 4.
