Agenda Item #4 - Discussion on the Future Development of Fairfield Town.
The Council discussed the information that Councilman Thomas had found out regarding the
Oak Development company. They are looking at putting a possible data center. They wanted to
disconnect from Fairfield. Kent Withers asked them to talk to the Town before making any
decisions.
Councilman Thomas stated that the company is worth billions. They had developed eighteen
percent of the Wasatch Front. They have had a high destiny and added trails and parks to those
developments. He has heard that the developer is upfront about what they want. He hopes that
the Town and the developer will work together.
The Council discussed the pros and cons of what can happen with this development if it stays in
Fairfield or disconnect to Eagle Mountain.
Councilman Thomas wants the Council to consider the reality of what is coming to Fairfield. Do
we work with developers or watch Fairfield dwindle in size? He feels that Kent Withers has
saved Fairfield by asking them to talk with the Town.
The Council will set up a meeting with the developer to hear what they have in mind.
Agenda Item # 5 Adjourn The Town Council Work Session Meeting
Councilwoman McKinney made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Councilman Panek seconded the
