Item 1. Approval of Minutes. Marianne motioned to approve the minutes, JR Bennett 2nd. Minutes approved. Item 2. Communications & Announcements. No announcements. Item 3. Parks Report. Hanna Weaver gave a brief report. She presented the quote for an all- inclusive playground from GameTime for Norwood Park and Windmill Park playgrounds. She has been contacted about memorial benches in the parks and asked if the commission was ok with allowing those. Everyone agreed they would be nice additions to the parks. Hanna mentioned keeping them all the same and everyone agreed. Hanna passed out ideas that Neil Stalnaker had brought her. Hanna discussed meetings that have been held between the City and MCPARC to discuss the possibility of Windmill Park being a location for the possible recreation center that MCPARC has been working on for the last few years. The next step for these conversations is for an intergovernmental agreement to be put in place. Robin Gomez brought up park rates for field usage and the concession stand. He mentioned that the ordinance was pull from City Council’s agenda. Old Business. Neil Stalnaker mentioned possibly projecting the GameTime website at a future meeting so everyone can see the options they provided in their quotes. Corwin Russell brought up 5th Street basketball court having some melted spots that are seemingly vandalism from a lighter. He also mentioned that he created a geocaching account for the Commission to use. JR Bennett brought up the possible recreation center that Hanna mentioned in her report and said that he would like to see the Sharon Steel site looked into for that. Since the WV State Police are there it could deter vandals. Marianne Moran mentioned that she visited Windmill Park and the drive to the park is not attractive. JR mentioned this is one of the reasons he isn’t sure that Windmill is the best place for a recreation center. Priority lists: Brad Merrifield said that he would like to see the city get additional funds for playground equipment. JR Bennett believes that Norwood and Morgantown Ave Park should be at the top of the list for improvements. Neil Stalnaker said he thinks that the Bellview installation should come first and then Norwood Park followed by some smaller projects. Corwin Russell mentioned that some painting in the parks is easy and could make a big difference and getting a list of volunteers to help with small tasks should be priorities. Meeting was adjourned at 7:58 pm. Neil Stalnaker motioned, Marianne Moran 2nd.
