FAIRMONT PLANNING COMMISSION The regular meeting of the Fairmont Planning Commission was held on December 20, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Public Safety Building located at 500 Quincy Street. President Straight called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and asked for a roll call of members. ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS MEMBERS PRESENT MEMBERS ABSENT Commissioner Majic Commissioner Yann Commissioner Colley Commissioner Carpenter Commissioner Greene Commissioner Parker Commissioner Richardson Commissioner Blickenstaff President Straight Commissioner Greene motioned to excuse the Commissioners Yann, Parker, Blickenstaff, and Carpenter from the meeting. Commissioner Richardson seconded the motion. CITY STAFF City Planner – Sandra Scaffidi Senior Staff Assistant – Maria Cipolla PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Commissioner Richardson led the Commissioners in the Pledge of Allegiance. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM November 15, 2017 Commissioner Greene motioned to approve the minutes. Commissioner Richardson seconded the motion. Motion carried 5-0 PUBLIC HEARING FOR December 20, 2017 None PUBLIC HEARING TO SET FOR January 17, 2018 1. Doug Cline requests the abandonment of a right of way between Barnes and Hall Streets between Tax Parcels 05-09-40; 05-09-39; 05-09-50.1; 05-09-50; 05-09-49; and 05-09-41. President Straight requested a motion to set this for a public hearing on January 17, 2018. Commissioner Greene motioned to set this request. Commissioner Richardson seconded the motion. Motion carried 5-0. NEW BUSINESS Sandra Scaffidi informed the Commissioners that there will be a work session at 5:00 p.m. with City Council before their regular scheduled meeting on January 23rd to review the draft of Comprehensive Plan. There will also be the regular scheduled meeting on January 17th to consider the right-of-way abandonment presented tonight and to review the Capital Improvement Plan. She handed out hard copies of the draft Comprehensive Plan too. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope the City of Fairmont grows in leaps and bounds. Commissioner Majic: Merry and Safe Happy Holidays. Commissioner Colley: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I hope the City of Fairmont grows and is prosperous. Commissioner Greene: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
