Presentation of the Employee of the Quarter
Mayor Tedford stated that Fallen Police Officer Daniel Shyne is the City of Fallen Employee of
the Quarter.
"Daniel knew early on that he wanted to follow in the footsteps of his mother and father, Debra
and Frank Shyne, both retired peace officers. After graduating from Churchill County High School, he
attended Western Nevada College where he obtained an Associates degree in Criminal Justice and
completed the State of Nevada POST Academy.
Daniel began his career in law enforcement as a Reserve Officer with the Storey County
Sheriffs Office. He later accepted a position with the Churchill County Sheriffs Office as a Detention
Deputy. Following his father's retirement, Daniel was hired by the Fallen Police Department where he
currently works in the Patrol Division.
Daniel serves our community with pride and professionalism. He is very knowledgeable with
computers and has been designated as one of the PD's Spillman Software Administrators. His attention
to detail, professionalism and performance led to another special assignment as he currently serves as a
Field Training Officer.
None of his achievements within the Police Department would have been possible without the
support of his wife, Megan.
Daniel is a loyal, professional and dependable employee who is always willing to accept
additional responsibilities. It is my pleasure to recognize Daniel as the Employee of the Quarter."
A plaque was presented and photographs were taken.
