Architectural Advisory Board Council Chambers June 3, 2015 7:45 p.m. 1. Roll Call: Mr. Fritsch, Mr. Anderson, Mr. Wong, and Mr. Way were present. Mrs. Friedlander was absent. 2. Petitions: Mr. Stevens chair of environmental services council informed the board about the Solarize Program offering site assessment and energy use assessment. 3. Consent Calendar: a. AAB #2015-0429 – installation of a temporary banner sign for Hot N Juicy Crawfish at 116 W. Broad Street. Mr. Way made a motion to approve as submitted. The motion was seconded by Mr. Wong and unanimously approved. b. AAB #2015-0466 – installation of a wall-mounted, lighted box sign at the rear entrance of Hot N Juicy Crawfish at 116 W. Broad Street. Mr. Way made a motion to approve as submitted. The motion was seconded by Mr. Anderson and unanimously approved. c. AAB #2015-0125 – installation of a lighted channel-letter sign for Comfort First Family at 450 N Washington St Unit D. Mr. Way made a motion to approve as submitted. The motion was seconded by Mr. Wong and unanimously approved. 4. Other Business: Mr. Anderson asked about the use and placement of temporary sandwich board signs. City staff mentioned that signs like this and similar instances do cause pedestrian obstacles and as part of the larger master plan would be addressed as streetscape improvements 5. Old Business: There was no old business. 6. New Business: a. Review and consideration of the draft West Broad Street POA Small Area Plan. A presentation was made by Jim Snyder, Development Services Director. Discussion among board and staff commenced including how to address parking decks especially as they relate to the Park Avenue frontage, the West Train Station and public plaza, sidewalk concerns, width and other related elements. Board members will submit Small Area Plan comments individually directly to city staff. 7. Minutes from the May 6, 2015 AAB meeting were reviewed. Mr. Way made a motion that they be accepted as submitted, seconded by Mr. Anderson, and passed unanimously. 8. Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 9:55 p.m.
