Architectural Advisory Board Meeting Minutes Wednesday November 10, 2021❖ 7:30PM NOTICE: This meeting will be held pursuant to and in compliance with the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, Section 2.2-3708.2 and state and local legislation adopted to allow for continued government operation during the COVID-19 declared emergency. All participating members will be present at this meeting through electronic means. All members of the public may view this electronic meeting via the meeting link listed above and in the City’s website calendar. Public comments may be submitted to jhollern@fallschurchva.gov until 7:30PM on November 10, 2021. All comments will be provided to the Architectural Advisory Board members and comments received by the deadline will be read during the meeting. Call to Order – Meeting Called to Order at 7:33PM 2. Reading of Virtual Meeting Notice 3. Roll Call – PRESENT: Jim Way, Amy Friedlander, Victor Wong, Albert Bitici, Phil Osburn, Christopher Weir, Mika Gavin, Grayson Kusic, Jeff Hollern; ABSENT: Tim Stevens 4. New Business a. Feedback requested on the Broad and Washington Site Plan Application and recent changes made to the Elevations; located at 100 N Washington Street and 127-131 E Broad Street, and Park Place. RPC #53-104-051, 53-104-036, 53-104-050, AND 53-104-015), zoned Mixed Use. Presentation to be made by applicant. • North park will not have much lighting when trees are too large • Concern for traffic noise at B&W open space area, applicant should soften hardspace • Stormwater management plan, a. utilize landscaping to ease impact on infrastructure b. Make sure staff is ok with plan • Creative Cauldron Façade clarification • Placement of public space at B&W a. Safety for children a concern • Appreciation of bus stops on site • Maintainance on site? Who takes care of what a. Insight will manage out to curb line • Ped walkway moved back from building, addresses previous AAB comment • Nice improvements on landscaping along park place • Play in proportions of windows to reduce “shoebox” style • Repetitive along park and Washington st facades The City of Falls Church is committed to the letter and spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
