Members Present: Barb Cram, Sally Cole, Corey Jannicelli, Laura Hull, Midge Wang, Lindy

The meeting was called to order by Chair Barb Cram at 9:46 am.
TLCCF Report:
Keith and Corey reminded everyone that the date for submitting FY17 grant reimbursement
forms has past. The FY18 grant application process will open on June 15 and grant application
deadline is August 1. Please have your organizations start thinking about potential FY18
grants.
Action Plan Review:

Marketing

The website now has a new server.
Space
No new updates.
Sally requested a copy of the current list of spaces
Lindy recommended adding the Kensington to the list for Art and Music
Planning and Development
Presentation by Joe Wetzel from Railroad LLC to discuss the Railroad Cottage House
Development plans
The concept is to build a community with 10 small houses facing each other and a
common house to bring everyone together.
There will be no concrete or asphalt but a carport for 12 cards with permeable pavers
with a zero step and a boardwalk between the homes
Keith asked if there will be a sign to mark the historical significance of the property
o The plan is to bring pink granite leftover from the Tinner Hill project for an
engraved sign.
Keith asked if there was any plans for the Storage Shed along the bike trail next to the
property
o That shed is actually NOVA Parks but they have reached out to the park
authority about a redesign
A concerned was raised around water runoff from the property

o The design has a stormwater system able to hold up to 10 years of water under
the property eliminating runoff issues.
Vote: To support the railroad cottage development with the understanding that a sign would
be placed on the property to address its historical significance
Vote yes was unanimous
Announcements:
Barb is actively pursuing a love sculpture for the City of Falls Church Public Art
initiative out of instruments
Barb recommends the purchase and use of pole banners for upcoming events.
Lindy shared the blues festival is moving forward well but there will be no events this
year at the state theatre
There will be 26 student liaisons for the city councils and committees next year. We
will need to identify a new liaison for the Arts & Humanities Council
