Strategic Plan
Review of SWAT analysis from 2015
Need to re-examine goals and objectives of the Arts and Humanities Council (AHC)
as we come out of COVID
Strategic Plan will be beneficial to sending objectives to the City Council’s bi-annual
work plan
Relationship between the Arts & Humanities Council and the CATCH Foundation
has changed overtime and clear distinctions are needed.
The AHC needs a Vision Statement
o Example: Arts and culture for everyone.
The general public knows little about the Arts & Humanities Council and work is
needed to raise awareness
o Can this be address through better promotion? Social media?
Request for more clarity around the Arts & Humanities grants process
Recommendation on making a visual organizational chart
Review of past action plan
o Logo
o The AHC created a logo for the council
o CATCH is celebrated & promoted aggressively by the City of Falls Church
1
o Challenges with promotion of Arts and Culture events, City
communications only share city sponsored events. City of Falls
Church does not have a “Visit Falls Church” kind of site.
o Limitations with funding and staffing towards the arts and culture
Consider funding a part-time position
Conversation on reviewing our Strategic Plan will continue at a future meeting
Roundtable Discussions
