After the presentation, the CACT met to conduct a short meeting with the following agenda: 1. Public Comment 2. Action Item: Approval of Minutes for May 2019. 3. Staff Reports 4. Discussion Item: West Falls Church Economic Development Project  5. Discussion Item: Transit Fares for Students 1. Public Comment: A citizen commented about the posting of 20 mph limits on residential streets. 2. Action Item: Approval of Minutes for March, April and May 2019: The Meeting minutes for the March, April and May 2019 CACT meetings were approved unanimously with no changes, 3. Staff Reports: Jeff reported that Paul Stoddard was on paternity leave and that Gary Fuller was acting Planning Director. Jeff also reported on the 3T bus ridership averaged 81 riders per weekday for the third quarter of FY2019. Dave commented that the 3T bus and 28A bus are sometimes clustered together, likely the result of delays on one line. Bikeshare became operational on May 8th, with a ribbon cutting ceremony on May 13th. Shaun indicated that he is a frequent user of Bikeshare. Jeff also reported that Bike to Work Day happened on May 17th and over 500 riders registered at the Falls Church Pit Stop. The W&OD trail projects are going to the Planning Commission on July 1 for a work session, and will be an agenda item on the July CACT meeting. Tara reported that we have a new intern, the Park Ave missing sidewalk is under construction, the traffic control box at Little Falls and Park has been approved for the first test site for “art” on the box, the four –way stop sign at Park Ave and Lee St is operational, Safety/walkabilty analysis is underway, Missing connection sidewalk assessment study is underway and she mentioned that striping would be added to pavement markings at Broad and Spring Streets. Dave Snyder commented on the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project proposed for Route 7 from Tysons to Alexandria through the City, the Regional Bus Study sponsored by WMATA, and the Transportation Planning Board (TPB) highway safety issues report. 4. Discussion Item: West Falls Church Economic Development Project: The CACT heard the developer’s presentation on changes made to the plan for the WFC Economic Development Plan. These include: • Removal of the shared parking garage • Elimination of the left-turn lane from Commons Drive to southbound Route 7 • Change of the cycle track along Mustang Alley to Haycock Rd to a multi-use path.  The CACT decided not to provide additional comments on the plan changes. 5. Discussion Item: Transit Fares for Students: As a way of improving Metrobus ridership on the 3T and 28A lines, Council Member Hardi proposed that students from GMHS and MEHMS be offered paid transit fares to ride the bus to/or from school. Jeff commented that The District of Columbia has such a program which involves the DC School system and WMATA. It was suggested that the FCCPS study the idea, and Melissa suggested that a pilot program be developed with students riding the 28A or 3T bus. Paul commented it would make students familiar with idea of taking mass transit.
