1. Call to Order
• members present: Peter Adriance, Sarah Bayldon, Peter Oppenheimer, Tim
Stevens, Suzanne Updike
• staff present -- Allison Lohrenz
2. Public Comments - none
3. Approval of Minutes (September 2012) -- approved
4. Old Business, Discussion items
• EPA Green Community Challenge- Tim provided summary. Discussion of
ways to promote the challenge, which will run until September 2013.
• Pedestrian and Bicycle Plan- Suzanne will finish letter and send to city council
• Legislative Program- Tim provided update
• Tim noted that City Staff presented information about potential storm water
utility at last Monday’s city council work session.
5. New Business
• The Reserve at Tinner Hill -- developer indicated a commitment to LEED silver.
ESC may provide comments later.
• Review/Analysis of 2011 MSW Statistics -- Allison will receive our ranking of
recycling rate in November. Will wait until then to publicize the statistics.
6. Informational Items
• Tim noted that is Ray is updating the ESC bylaws to reflect current practice.
ESC should see draft of the changes by the next ESC meeting
• Allison explained that ESC needs to provide a work plan to city clerk. ESC will
develop mission statement to be part of work plan. Also, an annual report is
due to clerk in February.
7. Other Business
• Bill Schellstede has indicated that he will step down as chair, but will remain on
the ESC. ESC will vote to select new chair and vice chair next month.
8. Set Next Meeting
• November 15th. Paul Baldino will speak about W&OD trail in the City
