MINUTES OF SOLID WASTE MANGEMENT PLAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE PURPOSE OF MEETING: Prepare Twenty (20) year Solid Waste Management Plan to present to City Council for consideration before submitting to Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) on or before July 1, 2024. Recycling presentation by Jordan Berkley with American Recycling Company (ARC). Topics reviewed broad overview of recycling, American Recycling Center upgrades, and safety for workers in facility. 2. Gershman, Brickner, and Bratton, Inc. (GBB): review of draft chapters 2-5, comments made by City staff and SWMPAC members are under review, and presented sample SMART goals to begin topics of conversation. 3. Action items: Provide SWMPAC with last 3 DEQ SWMP updates, forward Zero Waste memo from GBB to SWMPAC members, schedule American Recycling Center (ARC) visit, schedule recycling audit with ARC. 4.
