Tree Commission Meeting Minutes Wednesday, April 20, 2016 v 7:45 - 9:30 pm Dogwood Room, City Hall Present: Dennis Szymanski, Kathy Philpott Costa, Kate Reich, Barbara Tesner, John Tesner, Dan Sze 1. Approval of March Minutes: The minutes from the March 16, 2016 meeting were approved. 2. Public Comments: None 3. Old Business: None 4. Current Business  Streetscape Design Standards: A draft Charter for a Taskforce for Streetscape Design has been circulated among potential taskforce members, including the Tree Commission. The City Council will vote on the Charter soon. The Tree Commission will suspend revision of the draft design standards pending formation of the Taskforce.  Big Chimneys Park: The Master Plan for Big Chimneys Park is being updated. When it is adopted by City Council, funding will be reviewed for fiscal year 2017, and there will be opportunity for input on tree and drainage issues during the design and construction-planning phase.  Adding Tree Canopy Fund payments to commercial development proffers: A draft memo addressing Mixed-Use Redevelopment rules, tree preservation proffers, and a tree canopy fund and has been circulated to two staff members as well as Tree Commission members.
