Urban Forestry Commission Meeting Minutes Wednesday, October 18, 2023 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. Meeting Location: 300 Park Ave, Dogwood and Virtual Attendees UFC members: Stephanie Lamore (Vice Chair), Tim Roche, Alison Miller (Secretary), Jennifer Anderson UFC Virtual Members: none City Council Liaison: Letti Hardy UFC Student Representative: Lydia Sturgil City Staff Liaison: Charles Prince (Arborist) Members of the Public: none Other guests: none 1) Call to Order - the meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m. by Stephanie Lamore 2) Roll Call 3) Approval of August and September Minutes. The August and September UFC minutes were approved by a voice vote. 4) Public Comment. No public comments received. 5) Staff updates and Informational Items: a) City Council Calendar a) We should request Energy Action Plan Review for UFC before Council vote. b) The Council is considering how to spend the budget surplus. Ideas that the UFC are considering: leave the leaves campaign, tree counting, electric garden equipment. b) Staff Updates a) Candidate verbally accepted an offer for the Operations crew starting in early November. Tim and Stephanie will take the lead for the content and Letty will connect us to the communications leads. b) Discussion on ending meetings at 9PM. 7) Future Business a) Tree and Canopy Requirements for Commercial Property included in code.
