It is also appropriate during introductions for members to share how long they have served on their respective commissions. An update on the process and park master plan will be provided. The commissions are interested in discussing how the current program and event partnerships are going and if there are other opportunities to partner on programs and/or events. This agenda topic is an opportunity for both commissions to discuss other programs and events that aren’t on the agenda. The events were held on Friday evenings on May 19 and September 8 from 5 to 8 p.m. Commission members should be prepared to review this year’s food truck events and discuss the event(s) for next year. Page 9 of 15  PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION AGENDA MEMO To: Parks and Recreation Commission From: Kellee Omlid, Parks & Recreation Director Department: Parks & Recreation Subject: Music/Entertainment in Parks Meeting: Parks and Recreation Commission Joint Meeting with Empire Parks and Recreation Commission - Oct 23 2023 INTRODUCTION: Farmington Parks and Recreation and the City of Empire both provide free entertainment in parks to residents and visitors. The discussion could include, but not limited to, type of entertainment that is held, funding for the entertainment, locations where entertainment is held, and recommendations for entertainment. Parks and Recreation host four concerts in the parks. The concerts were held the last Wednesday of each month May through August. The four concerts were attended by approximately 612 people. Parks and Recreation also shows two movies in the parks. One movie was held in July and the second in September. There were approximately 528 people that attended the two movies.
