COMMUNITY RELATIONS COMMISION Regular Meeting NOVEMBER 7, 2016 Civic Center Members Present: Melissa Meechan, Mark Marquez, Lynn Love, Harelda Anderson, David John, and Charles Kromer Members Absent: Michelle Bates, Cathryn Abeyta and Alicia Middleton Staff Present: Julie Baird, Ass’t City Manager and Joanna Oliver, Secretary Guest Present: None CALL TO ORDER Melissa Meechan called the meeting to order at 4:03 pm with a quorum of members present; the following procedures were duly had and taken. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mark Marquez made a motion to approve the October 3, 2016 minutes. Harelda Anderson seconded. Motion passed. OUTREACH AND EDUCATION UPDATES The Commissioners had a roundtable discussion regarding their participation in activities for the last month. OLD COMMISSION BUSINESS  Allen Theater Ads will begin January 4, 2017  San Juan College African American Club had to cancel and will reschedule for our December meeting. NEW COMMISSION BUSINESS  Charles Kromer as the Commission if someone could do a presentation of the CRC to his class.  Lynn Love will be going to Durango and attend their CRC meeting to look at strategies and activities in developing a message. It will be on November 18th. Mark Marquez and Harelda Anderson will also be attending.  Melissa Meechan will be presenting Civility First on November 21st at the College.
